A Quiet Sunday at Mori

A quiet Sunday Spent at a small place...

It was a Sunday today so to enjoy a little longer sleep I did not fix my alarm to 5.45 like all the other weekdays hoping to get up naturally without the cruel sound of alarm at the cold wintry monrning. But since it has become a habit so I naturally got up at around 5.35 only full ten minutes earlier than my normal sleep. But then you need to leave the warm bed in order to face another day here at hills. For a change I drank a full mug of black coffee today and got ready for my morning walk.

Before starting for my walk since it was a Sunday so I granted myself one more luxury today to have a cup of rather a glass of warm and sugary tea as the tea is served here in Steel tumbler at Dhanni bhai's dhaba. He is a hardworking mam and he is the only Dhaba owner who open up his shop at 6 no matter what the condition of the weather may be...

So after having a tumbler full of tea and a fan, a salty and crunchy snack prepared in non descript bakeries I was ready for my late morning walk as it was already around 7.45 by the time I paid Dhanni bhai having made a promise to come back after my walk for one more glass of tea at his shop....

I took my daily route for I have only two walking routes here which I try alternately. So today I took the most likeable route which has a decent ascent and take you to the higher up where then there is a long a straight road leading to few villages on the way. At times I go till the last village which is around 8 kms from starting point, but normally I go till Badhau Village which is around 8 kms.
During so many of my morning walks on holidays I am greeted by the school children enjoying their holiday and at time I take them to the village little shop to buy some toffees and biscuits to make them happy...

Today I did not go that far and decided to examine some new territory off the road. The place I visited today were once the fertile patches of terrace farms but now lay barren as the people are moving away from the agricultural activities. It was really pain full to see these field which once were prepared with a hard labour by the hardworking forefathers of the present generation. Having strolled there for few minutes and enjoying sunlight I then started back and came again to sip my another tea. By the time it was already past 10 am and there was activity seen on otherwise deserted looking bus stop. Having ordered my tea I waited for some time as Dhanni bhai was busy in preparing Aloo Paranthas for the people who were coming back from the famous Hanol Mahasu Mandir. I too talked to them they were a family came from Dehradun to have the darshan of Hanol Mahasu Dewta ji. I guided them about few other places of interest around ad took leave of Dhanni bhai and came to my room. Thankfully there was electricity available so I fixed my heating rod to warm the cold water for a bath. Having taken bath I became ready to spend my day with the book I started reading on 03 Jan....Seven Years in Tibbat. I had my days meals at Amar Roka bhai dhaba who is a jolly good Nepali fellow. After a plate of rice served with customary Rajma Dal and a green veg I strolled towards my office where the sunlight is available till around 5 till evening. Its 5 now I am writing and Sun god is already saying goodbye to me. So getting myself ready to put on my jacket which I removed to enjoy sunlight its time to put it on again....
